CONSCIENTIZATION REPORT

 Report on Conscientization Programme :

Awareness on Time management among students @St. Aloysius H.S.S Kollam.

Conscientization is the process of developing a critical awareness of one's social reality through reflection and action. This popular educational and social concept was developed by Brazilian educational theorist Paulo Freire. It includes taking action against the oppressive
elements in one's life that are illuminated by understanding.

                                  TIME MANAGEMENT

As part of our Teaching practice, i have done a conscientization program for 8th-standard students on the topic "TIME MANAGEMENT". The session was for a duration of 40 minute. All students actively participated and engaged in the talk.  Firstly, I began by talking on the importance of time management, then collected different ways of time management skills and strategy. Towards the end, a study-related timetable was also given to then.

Time is a limited resource. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. We can’t turn back time or make more time. Good time management skills help students prioritize tasks so they are able to complete school work and assignments on time. Students are able to plan ahead, set aside the time they need for projects and assignments, and make better use of that time.
Effective time management skills are especially important for high school students. As students enter high school, they have to deal with more subjects, assignments, tests, and extracurriculars. Good time management skills can help keep them on track and reduce stress as they take on more work.

Some of the important skills students need to manage time effectively include:

1. Goal-setting

It’s almost impossible to use time well if you don’t know what to do with it. Students can benefit from having short- and long-term goals. For example, a short-term goal might include completing their homework early each day, so they have ample time to practice music.

2. Prioritisation

By assessing what needs to be achieved within a given timeframe, tasks can be rated according to their importance. Setting priorities for each day, week, month, and year can help students accomplish their goals. It also helps to ensure activities that are vitally important but not urgent – such as personal devotion, adequate sleep, and exercise – are given precedence. Some people like to prioritize easy tasks for early in the day and use the boost to move forward.

3.Managing stress

Nobody performs at their peak under excessive stress. Students need healthy ways to manage the pressures of study while maintaining productivity. Getting enough sleep and exercising are all great ways to keep stress at bay, and actually make learning more efficient.

Make checklists of all you need to do – writing things down helps you to remember and prioritize tasks.

Avoid multi-tasking – divided attention is an inefficient way to learn. Focus on one task at a time for maximum productivity.

Encouraging children to manage their time well is prudent, yet it’s also possible for obsessive time management to be counterproductive. Continually searching for ways to use time more effectively can leave children feeling more anxious and stressed.

Students were made to realise the importance of time management in studies and in life. All were actively listening and responding. overall it was a nice experience.
